Tattoo Removal
Removing tattoos can be a complicated process. Laser treatments can give satisfactory results with some tattoos, but more often laser treatments leave residual pigmentation and unsightly burn scars at the tattoo site. Furthermore, laser treatments are very expensive and it can take many treatments over a prolonged period of time to get the optimal results. Dr. Harris has met many people who have been disappointed with attempts to remove their tattoos with laser treatments.

Most of the time, a tattoo can be removed by excising the tattooed skin. Depending on the size and location of the tattoo, this may take several skin excision treatments. The scar is generally well tolerated and significantly better than the burn scars left from laser treatments. With serial excisions, ALL of the tattoo pigment will be removed, without a resulting burn scar, at a fraction of the cost of laser treatments.
